Weatherby Lake doesn’t do anything halfway. The lake is private, the docks are permitted, and the 4th of July parade is judged partly on boat floats. Branded Detailing is the crew from up US-169 in Smithville that keeps the pontoons, the runabouts, and everything that tows them looking like they belong here.

Roughly 736 households ring this lake, and most of them keep something floating at a permitted dock from splash-in to haul-out: pontoons, ski boats, runabouts, bass rigs for the fishing club tournaments. The water’s been here since the dam went in back in 1937, and the city likes to call its 274 acres one of the cleanest lakes in the state.
Clean water is still open water, though, and private water is still full of neighbors who know exactly what a well-kept boat looks like. That’s the standard we detail to, and we do it for the whole set: the boat at the dock, the truck that tows it to the ramp, and the car sitting in the driveway while you’re out on the lake.

A season on open water works a hull in the same order every year: sun chalks the gelcoat and fades the vinyl, minerals spot it every time spray dries, and by August the waterline has painted on that brown scum line no spray-and-wipe cleaner will touch.
Anyone who’s bought a boat out here learns fast that the Weatherby Lake Improvement Company isn’t an HOA. It’s the nonprofit that governs the lake: annual assessments, dock permits, safety inspections, limits on what can go in the water, and the power-wash or quarantine rules that keep zebra mussels out of used boats arriving from other lakes. We’re not the inspectors, but a boat that shows up truly clean makes everybody’s job easier.
Spring, before splash-in
A deep decontamination wash of hull, trailer, and running gear (standard prep on our boat details), then full interior and topside cleaning so the season starts clean.
Before parade weekend
Machine polishing pulls an oxidized hull back to a real gloss. When the gelcoat is past polishing, chalked flat, spider-cracked, or gouged from a rough stretch at the dock, gelcoat repair restores the surface instead of shining what’s left.
Fall, before haul-out
Triton and Theseus marine ceramic coatings on hull and deck, so the boat winters clean and next summer’s water spots and scum wipe off instead of etching in.
Half the town is looking at your boat on the 4th of July. Those slots go first, so book a couple of weeks ahead.

Every boat here has a truck or SUV that drags it to the ramp, and those take the real beating. The mature tree canopy over these rolling streets drops sap, pollen, and bird droppings on anything parked outside, winter salt off MO-152 and I-29 rides home on the rockers, and with KCI minutes away plenty of vehicles sit a week in a driveway or an airport lot while it bakes in.
A full car detail resets the vehicle, machine polishing pulls the swirls and water etching out of the paint, and interior detailing handles what a summer of wet towels, sunscreen, and lake sand does to carpet and seats. Lake Waukomis and Houston Lake are on the same run
Lake Waukomis runs the same playbook a few minutes south: its own private water, its own annual dock and watercraft inspections, and golf-cart ordinances on the books because the cart is a legitimate second vehicle there. Little Houston Lake keeps its 16 acres just to the east. Same sun, same water spots, same gelcoat problems. Just smaller water.

Can you detail my pontoon at our dock on Weatherby Lake, or does it need to come out of the water first?
WLIC says my used boat needs a power-wash before it can go in the lake because of zebra mussels. Is that something you handle?
