FAQ

Paint correction questions, answered

Can swirl marks actually be removed from my paint?
In many cases, yes. Swirl marks are often defects within the paint's clear coat rather than permanent damage to the paint itself. Professional paint correction carefully refines the surface to reduce or eliminate those imperfections, restoring clarity and depth that ordinary washing or waxing can't achieve.
What's the difference between single-stage and multi-stage paint correction?
A single-stage correction focuses on improving the paint with one polishing step, while a multi-stage correction uses additional refining steps to address more significant defects and achieve a higher level of finish. The appropriate process depends on the condition of the paint and your expectations rather than automatically choosing the most aggressive approach.
Can paint correction fix scratches?
Some scratches can be greatly improved or even removed, while others cannot. If the scratch is limited to the clear coat, correction may significantly reduce its appearance. If it extends deeper into the paint or primer, polishing alone won't completely eliminate it. Every vehicle should be evaluated individually before promising specific results.
Will paint correction remove water spots and oxidation?
Many mineral deposits, oxidation, and surface contamination can be corrected during the polishing process if they haven't permanently damaged the finish. The sooner these issues are addressed, the better the chance of restoring a smooth, glossy surface before deeper damage occurs.
How do I know if my vehicle needs paint correction?
If your paint looks dull in direct sunlight, has noticeable swirl marks, fine scratches, haze, or has lost the deep gloss it once had, paint correction may be the right solution. A professional inspection helps determine whether those imperfections can be safely improved and which level of correction is appropriate.
What happens after paint correction is finished?
Once the paint has been corrected, it should be protected to preserve the results. Many customers choose a ceramic coating immediately afterward because it helps maintain the newly restored finish and makes routine washing easier. Correcting paint without protecting it often means the finish begins deteriorating again sooner than necessary.
Is paint correction safe for newer vehicles?
Yes, when it's performed only as needed. Even brand-new vehicles can arrive with light swirl marks, dealership wash damage, or minor imperfections from transportation and preparation. The goal isn't to remove unnecessary material, but to safely refine the finish while preserving as much clear coat as possible.
Do you inspect my paint before quoting a correction?
Yes. Every correction starts with an evaluation of the paint’s actual condition: clear-coat depth, the type of defects, and what a single-stage or multi-stage process can realistically achieve. You get an honest assessment before any work is scheduled, so there are no surprises on either side.
